John was an exemplary friend of Sri Lankan Amateur Radio and a dedicated member of the RSSL. He was made an Honorary Member in 2014 for his contributions towards the RSSL\, and we are deeply grateful for his unwavering support and commitment to the amateur radio community in Sri Lanka. \nJohn’s dedication to Sri Lankan amateur radio was evident in his efforts to assist Sri Lankan hams in securing transmitting equipment. He and his club\, the North East Wisconsin DX Association\, worked together with 4S7VK to donate over 40 VHF\, UHF and HF transceivers to Sri Lankan hams through his program called “Rigs For Sri Lanka”. This program continued right up until the end of 2022 and helped many Sri Lankan hams get on the air. John also secured the Mark4 VHF repeater for the RSSL along with a Hustler G7 antenna which he hand-carried and presented to the RSSL. We will always be grateful for his generous contributions to the Sri Lankan amateur radio community. \nJohn’s dedication to Sri Lankan amateur radio will always be remembered\, and we shall miss him very much. We offer our deepest condolences to his XYL Cindy and his family.
