The Sri Lankan Amateur Radio Band Plan, issued by the Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL), will to serve as a practical operating guide for amateur radio operators within Sri Lanka. It outlines recommended frequency usage across MF, HF, VHF, and UHF bands, helping operators use spectrum efficiently while minimizing interference and ensuring smooth coexistence between different operating modes.
This band plan is intended for licensed Sri Lankan amateurs, visiting foreign operators, and guest license holders who wish to operate from Sri Lanka. It identifies commonly used calling frequencies, DX segments, digital modes, satellite operations, emergency communication frequencies, and QRP activity areas, reflecting both local operating practices and international amateur radio conventions.
While the RSSL Band Plan provides essential operational guidance, operators must note that it is a general reference document. The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) National Table of Frequency Allocations and individual license conditions take precedence at all times. Operators are expected to remain within their authorized privileges and avoid causing harmful interference, especially in shared or secondary allocation bands.
Foreign amateurs operating in Sri Lanka are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with this band plan before going on air. Doing so helps maintain orderly operation, supports emergency and community communications, and upholds the long-standing reputation of Sri Lankan amateur radio on the international stage
