The Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL) successfully concluded a hands-on workshop for Engineering Undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya on 4th February 2025. This workshop aimed to introduce students to the world of radio communications, RF technology, and practical applications in amateur radio.
The interactive sessions included antenna building, RF signal propagation, direction finding, and hands-on radio operation. Participants also explored advanced topics such as aircraft communication systems, high-frequency signal characteristics, and the importance of emergency communication networks. The workshop provided an invaluable opportunity for students to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, reinforcing their passion for telecommunications and electronics.
A huge thank you to Senevi 4S7MD, Kokila 4S7KW, Varuna 4S6VNN, Binara 4S6TWO, and SWLs Gayan, Dhanandula & Mike along with RSSL President Tharanga 4S6TMP for their enormous support in making this event a success. Special appreciation goes out to all of you who had QSOs with the students, giving them a firsthand experience of amateur radio communication.
The RSSL continues its mission to educate and inspire the next generation of engineers and radio enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more exciting events!
