RSSL concludes a landmark 72nd AGM

Amateur radio enthusiasts gathered for a society meeting or conference.

A record turnout, a historic election, and a promising new chapter for the Radio Society of Sri Lanka.

The 72nd Annual General Meeting of the Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL) was held on Sunday, 22nd March 2026, at the Otter Aquatic Club, Colombo 7 – and by every measure, it was a resounding success. The meeting saw a full house and record participation, reflecting the growing momentum within the amateur radio community in Sri Lanka.

Among the highlights of the AGM was the election of new office bearers for the term 2026/27. In a historic moment — only the second in RSSL’s history — a Young Lady (YL) operator was elected as President. Ms. Prarthana Liyanage (4S7PL) was unanimously elected to lead the society, and we are confident she will carry RSSL to even greater heights.
