Hello to all my amateur radio friends there in Sri Lanka.
I am sending along my very best wishes and have vivid memories of my first visit to Sri Lanka with friend Malcolm, immediately following the Tsunami of December 2004. Malcolm and I transported donated medical supplies and radio communications equipment to assist with emergency support at this challenging time. I very much appreciated the kindness of Victor, Dammika, Nelson and others who gave so generously of their hospitality and time and have friendships which will last for my lifetime.
I will be visiting Sri Lanka again for two weeks from 15 to 27 January and it would be wonderful to meet up with any members of the society who was involved in the disaster operations at the time or indeed any member who may be free to meet during my stay. I will be staying with friends in Wadduwa but would be happy to hear from anyone who is interested in meeting. I am thinking of you all at this 20th Anniversary of the tragic events of December 26, 2004.
