Call for Volunteers: Represent RSSL at Ceylona 2024 Camp!
We are thrilled to announce that the Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL) has been invited to participate in the upcoming International Camp of the Girl Guides. This prestigious event, “Ceylona 2024,” is scheduled to take place at Ibbagamuwa Central College, Kurunegala, from the 18th to the 23rd of August 2024 (RSSL stall runs from 19th to 22nd). The camp will host 2500 local Girl Guides and Rangers, along with 500+ International Girl Guides.
As part of this exciting event, RSSL has been given the honor to host a radio booth. This booth will serve as a platform for:
- Demonstrating the operation of amateur radio equipment.
- Educating attendees about the basics and importance of amateur radio.
- Providing hands-on experience through interactive sessions and activities.
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about amateur radio and eager to share their knowledge with the next generation of leaders. Your participation will not only contribute to the success of the camp but also promote a greater appreciation and understanding of amateur radio among a diverse audience.
Volunteer Roles Include:
- Setting up and operating the amateur radio equipment.
- Conducting educational sessions and interactive activities.
- Engaging with Girl Guides and answering their questions about amateur radio.
